Q: Is the library open on Saturday?
A: Yes, JCL is open from 9:30 AM- Noon on Saturdays.
Q: Does the library close for lunch?
A: No, the JCL is open Monday through Friday from 9:30AM-5:00PM and Saturday from 9:30AM-Noon. Special holiday closings may vary.
Q: Do you accept donations of used books, tapes, DVDS, CDs?
A: Yes. If we cannot place them in the collection, we can sell them or give them away.
All gifts are to be used at the library’s discretion.
Q: How can I make a donation or send a memorial?
A: We accept donations in any amount in person, by mail (PO Box 748, Newport, AR
72112) or also online. Look for the “Donate” button on the home page-Coming Soon!
Q: Can I search the card catalog online at home on my computer?
A: Yes. Go to www.jacksoncolibrary.net and click on the "Research and Database" link, and then click on "Card Catalog."
Q: How much do copies cost?
A: A photocopy is 15 cents per page and printing from a computer is 10 cents per page.
Q: Does the library have free wireless internet access?
A: Yes
Q: How much does it cost to send or receive a fax?
A: $1 per page to send or receive
Q: Can I get help typing a resume or filling out a job application?
A: If time allows, the staff can sometimes assist with questions about word processing

Q: How much is a library card?
A: Borrowing books is FREE for Jackson County residents. Come in and apply for the
card and you will receive it through the mail in 2-3 days. Checking out CDs and other
audiobooks is also FREE.
Q: How can I find information on my ancestors?
A: We have census records dating back to 1820 through 1930 on microfilm and online
databases, Ancestry.com.
Q: How can I use Ancestry.com and ProQuest from home?
A: Go to the library’s website and log in using your Jackson County Library Patron ID
number found on your library card.
