Interlibrary Loans

If a patron wishes to read a book not housed in our library, we can try to borrow the book from another lending library. The process takes anywhere from 1 week + to locate and receive the book. The only fee charged for this service is $1.00 to cover the cost of return postage, unless the lending library requests an additional fee. If the book cannot be located, there is no fee due. Requirements to request an Interlibrary Loan are:
  • The book must be published 6 months +.
  • New books cannot be borrowed from most libraries.
  • Title and author of book must be provided when making the request.
  • Borrower must be a tax-payer in Jackson County.

As a service to those needing magazine articles that we do not have, we can also "Interlibrary Loan" those articles, provided we have the name of the magazine, the month, day, year and article title - all information mandatory. Set fee of $1.00 applies unless otherwise stipulated by the lending library.
